Jurnal Plastik Rekonstruksi was established by the Lingkar Studi Bedah Plastik Foundation a non-profit organization, as the sole funder and sponsor. With its generous contribution toward operational and publication cost from the LSBP Foundation since 2012, Jurnal Plastik Rekonstruksi able to provide high-quality peer-reviewed articles to its reader. 

Currently, Jurnal Plastik Rekonstruksi is the official journal of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic training program Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia. Lingkar Studi Bedah Plastik Foundation

Lingkar Studi Bedah Plastik (LSBP) Foundation was founded in Jakarta, Indonesia on 13 January 2012 by nine founding members. The LSPB founding members have been actively participating in the development of Plastic Surgery education in Indonesia, this has proven by the participation of LSBP members in the Indonesian College Of Plastic Surgery board members. All of LSBP members also actively participating in the Indonesian Association Of Plastic Surgeon (PERAPI), some of the members have also sat in the chairman and important positions within the organization.

The mission of the LSBP is to support its members in their efforts to provide the highest quality patient care and maintain professional and ethical standards through education, research and advocacy of socioeconomic and other professional activities.

Their activities encompass the social and educational sectors. In educational sectors, the activities include publishing Jurnal Plastik Rekonstruksi and plastic surgery textbooks, arranging seminars and workshops in the field of plastic surgery, encouraging more research in the plastic surgery field, and educating Indonesian citizens about a healthy lifestyle. In social sectors, the activities include providing funds to support research in the field of plastic surgery and improving community health by arranging the voluntary medical mission (e.g free surgery).
